BRAAX Construction Labourer/Delivery Person

Job Purpose

We are a busy construction company and are always hiring dedicated Construction Labourers to join our team. As a BRAAX Construction Labourer, you provide a crucial service to the maintenance of our job sites. This includes daily site cleaning, organizing tools and materials on job sites, loading, and unloading materials and performing demolition and excavation activities when required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Use the BRAAX Construction PO system

  • Prepare construction site by cleaning obstacles and hazards

  • Perform site clean up at the end of the day

  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding

  • Remove fill or compact earth

  • Take garbage, recycling, and other materials to the landfill

  • Pick up, load, and deliver material to job sites

  • Assist co-workers where needed

  • Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites when required

  • Perform measuring, sizing, and cutting of various job site materials

  • Use power tools and machinery following BRAAX safety protocols

  • Follow WorkSafe BC Standards

  • Ask questions when you are not sure

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • High school diploma

  • Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience operating a truck & trailer is an asset

  • Self-driven with the ability to multi-task

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Possess good organizational and time management skills

  • Reliable and consistently punctual with an eye for detail

  • Knowledge of workplace health & safety practices and responsibilities associated with it

  • Self-driven with the ability to motivate others

  • Proactive, hands-on, roll up your sleeves, and do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude

  • Contributor to a positive and results-oriented team environment with the desire to learn and grow

  • Physical stamina to maintain a productive 8-hour workday. Ability to lift weight up to 50lbs

  • Provide all your own personal safety gear including waterproof outerwear and gloves

  • Willing to work evenings, on-call, and weekends when requested
